Ekasbir Fund
No one wants to talk about it. Childhood cancer is real, and statistics are rising. Approximately 4% of total cases diagnosed as per a recent National Cancer Registry Programme (NCRP) report are children. The most common types of childhood cancers include leukemias, brain and spinal cord tumors, lymphomas, and solid tumors like neuroblastoma and Wilms tumor.
The worst part? For a mother, the statistics don’t matter. And no one knows that better than Jasmine. In 2020, Jasmine lost her first born, Ekasbir, he was just 6. Yes she was heart broken. But she was determined too. Barely 2 months after that, she said, “Tell me how I can help stop this.” And that’s how the Ekasbir fund was instituted in the lockdown, helping raise funds for Access Life Assistance Foundation via The Restore Awards® hosted by Kindness Practice Foundation.
Cancer does not have any preferences – age, religion, socio-economic status, gender. It spares no one. “I’m a mother who has lost her first born, Ekasbir, to cancer. No mother deserves to go through that. That’s why I’m here to support the cause of cancer awareness, so that we can help our kids live. My son has given me this courage.”
“Ekasbir was just six years old. I don’t want any mother, any parent to ever go through this. Whether you’re an organisation doing CSR, an individual who has some money to spare, donating to the Ekasbir fund run by Kindness Practice Foundation creates awareness and implements early detection camps in underprivileged areas like slums, villages where people can’t afford them. Awareness and early detection can save lives in cancer prevention and healing. Let’s all help each other beat cancer. Let’s help save our children from cancer.”

Today, Jasmine continues to raise awareness as Kindness Ambassador for mothers and expectant parents to reduce the risk. As we continue our journey to spread the clinically accurate facts about cancer prevention, September our focus shifts to the pertinent cause of Childhood Cancer. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. It’s the month of gold, and here the gold ribbon represents what’s most precious to us. Join Jasmine to help other mothers prevent the heartbreak. Join the Gold movement at Kindness.
When you donate to this fund, you help every mother, who can prevent her child from succumbing to cancer.
