
Mihir Maher is a prominent healthcare professional, digital creator, and LGBTQ+ advocate based in Mumbai, India. He is widely recognized for his leadership within the queer community and his work in public health. He is a practicing physiotherapist and dietitian who has been serving the Mumbai region since 2006. He is the President of Impulse Mumbai (appointed in 2023), a queer-led collective that focuses on sexual health and community building. He previously served as the organization’s Director of Advocacy (2021) and a dedicated volunteer (since 2019).
Under his leadership at Impulse Mumbai, he has spearheaded critical health initiatives, including HIV and syphilis testing drives and awareness campaigns. In late 2025, he led community events such as the “Hope Walk” for World AIDS Day to combat stigma and promote dignity for those living with HIV. His activism began in 2017 with Queer Azadi Mumbai. He later joined QGraphy, where he led the documentation of the Mumbai Pride 2020 march. He was involved in the production of the short film Love +ve, which explores serodiscordant relationships (where one partner is HIV-positive and the other is not).
He serves as esteemed jury member of The Restore Awards®, run by the foundation to recognise inclusion for individuals and organisations impacting human and planet health.
