
Sunalini Mathew is an accomplished Indian journalist and editor currently serving as an Associate Editor at The Hindu. With over 20 years of experience in the media industry, she is recognized for her focus on long-form narrative features, gender issues, and social change. She leads and edits long-form narrative news features and curates the newspaper’s “Gender Agenda” newsletter. She has played a key role in launching the publication’s international edition and previously edited its science and health coverage.
Sunalini is a vocal proponent of narrative storytelling in news, having compiled “The Little Book of Narrative Journalism” to mentor younger reporters. Her career includes senior roles at Apollo Foundation, India Today, and various international lifestyle magazines licensed in India, such as Women’s Health, Prevention, Reader’s Digest, and Good Housekeeping. She supports and guides the digital content awareness platform, Unhurry®, run by the foundation to spread the message of human and planet health as being connected.
